For all the adventures in Colorado the Motoz Tractionator has been the "go-to", handles much of the state nicely 37k+ miles in fact on the 2015 KTM 1190 advR. Not only does colorado have great offroad trails but the roads themselves getting to trailheads are just as fun to throttle down and curve canyons!

This page has dormant for some time but the adventure has never stopped. We'll kick things off again here with a overall scope of Colorado. Trying to depict a map that shows point of interest about Colorado thru AI tools. Been riding these mountains for 25 years now so I've seen a thing or two...

Most people who hear about Colorado, think of mountains but until you see it in person there's much more than mountains infact only half the state is mountains. I categorize it in 3 regions east to west: 1) Front Range, 2) Mountains, 3)High Mesa desert aka Western Slope.

When riding out here all these areas need to be respected for there giving season as weather changes fast. Most are focused on the Mountains which don't truly open up until mid June and even some trails July. (This year 2026 might be a rare exception with the lack of snow). Another point to note is alot of trails have animal migration closures and again don't open until mid May thru out the state.

Some thing to think about when planning your next adventure, if I had my choice of seasons early Fall is the best time. Avoid the monsoon rainy season and just before the snow starts to fly...always get a snow storm early October to kick off weather followed by a brief warming up again.
