Searching for the perfect wedding venue? We have so many but be sure to check out one of our newest, Morgan Hall.✨💍

Located above The Brick Tavern and overlooking the Maryland Theatre, they offer more than just a ballroom.

Exposed brick walls, reclaimed timber beams, and stunning downtown views create a naturally beautiful setting (little to no extra decor needed!).
Relax in their luxurious Magnolia Room bridal suite or kick back in the Groom’s Parlor—both included to make your event stress-free. 🥂

Happy President's Day! 🎩 Numerous U.S. presidents have visited Washington County, often passing through Hagerstown, fishing along the C&O Canal, or visiting Antietam Battlefield. Key visitors include George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, and George W. Bush. Many others stopping during campaigns or trips to the nearby Camp David retreat, via Hagerstown Regional Airport. 🛬

One key visit was made by President Abraham Lincoln, who, after the Battle at Antietam, issued his preliminary Emancipation Proclamation.

🚗 The open road wasn’t always open to everyone.
The National Road Museum in Boonsboro, has a reproduction of the powerful history of "The Negro Motorist Green Book." For decades, this wasn’t just a travel guide—it was a survival tool for Black families traveling Route 40 and beyond during the Jim Crow era.
While the National Road (US 40) is celebrated as the "Main Street of America," the museum’s display reminds us of the reality of segregation. For Black travelers, finding a safe place to sleep or eat was a challenge.
That’s where Hagerstown comes in. 📍
Did you know Hagerstown had its own sanctuaries listed in the Green Book? The Harmon Hotel and the Ship Tea Room on Jonathan Street were vital safe havens for African Americans passing through Western Maryland.
History is complex, but understanding the full picture of our local roads helps us appreciate how far we’ve come.
