One of the biggest mistakes I see families make when planning a vacation?

They start with the destination.

They see a beautiful resort on Instagram.

Someone posts about an amazing cruise.

A friend says, “You HAVE to take your kids to Europe!”

They hear about a new attraction.

They find a great deal.

And suddenly…

They’re trying to build their family vacation around a destination that may or may not actually fit their family.

Instead, I like to start somewhere completely different:

With YOU. ❤️

Before I ever start talking about hotels, flights, excursions, or itineraries, I want to know:

✨ How old are your kids?

✨ What do they love?

✨ What do they absolutely not love?

✨ How does your family handle busy days?

✨ Does everyone need downtime?

✨ Are you looking for relaxation, adventure, or a little bit of both?

✨ What does Mom need from this vacation?

✨ What would make Dad say, “Yep, this was worth it”?

✨ And probably my favorite question…

How do you want this trip to feel?

Because the vacation that is perfect for your best friend might be completely wrong for your family.

And that’s okay.

Maybe your family needs a slower-paced beach vacation.

Maybe your kids would thrive on a cruise where there is always something to do.

Maybe you’re ready to explore Europe.

Maybe Disney is exactly what your family needs right now.

Or maybe you’re all exhausted and the perfect vacation is somewhere with a pool, room service, and absolutely nothing on the agenda. 😂

There is no universal “best” family vacation.

There is only the vacation that makes sense for your family, in this season of life.

That’s why I don’t believe travel planning should begin with:

“Where should we go?”

It should begin with:

“What does our family need?”

Once we answer that question, then we can start figuring out where to go.

Because your vacation should fit your family—not the other way around. ❤️

When you hear the word “luxury,” what comes to mind?

A five-star hotel?

An overwater bungalow?

A private villa?

A butler?

Ch*****ne by the pool?

Those things can certainly be luxurious.

But after helping families plan vacations, I’ve started thinking about luxury a little differently.

For a parent, sometimes luxury looks like someone else handling the details.

✨ Luxury is not having to spend six hours comparing 37 hotels.

✨ Luxury is knowing your transportation is arranged.

✨ Luxury is having a realistic itinerary instead of trying to squeeze twelve activities into one day.

✨ Luxury is choosing a hotel because it genuinely works for your family—not because it looked pretty on Instagram.

✨ Luxury is having someone who knows what questions to ask before you arrive.

✨ Luxury is knowing where you’re going, what to expect, and who to contact if something changes.

✨ Luxury is having time to actually enjoy your children instead of managing every single detail of the vacation.

And honestly?

That last one might be my favorite definition of luxury.

Because parents already spend so much of everyday life coordinating everyone else’s needs.

Your vacation shouldn’t feel like another project you have to manage.

You shouldn’t need a spreadsheet with seventeen tabs just to figure out where you’re eating dinner.

You shouldn’t have to spend months researching every transfer, excursion, resort, restaurant, and activity.

And you certainly shouldn’t have to come home from vacation feeling like you need another vacation. 😂

Luxury doesn’t always mean more.

Sometimes it means less.

Less stress.

Less decision fatigue.

Less uncertainty.

Less time spent managing logistics.

And more:

❤️ Connection
🌎 Exploration
😌 Relaxation
😂 Laughter
✨ Memories

That’s the kind of luxury I want for my clients.

Not simply a beautiful vacation—but a vacation that feels beautifully planned around your family.

So I’m curious…

When you think about your dream family vacation, what would make it feel luxurious to you?

Or simply having nothing to worry about?

Sometimes what may look like a kids vacation can be as therapeutic for the parents as it is fun for the kids.

Disney Cruise Line is more than a kid cruise. It may be magical for kids, but it’s just as special for the grown-ups! ❤️ Between incredible dining, Broadway-style shows, adults-only spaces, relaxing spa experiences, and destinations that invite you to explore together, there’s something for everyone to love. It’s not just a kids’ cruise—it’s an opportunity for the whole family to reconnect, make memories, and experience a little Disney magic of their own. ✨

If 2027 travel has been floating around in the back of your mind…this is your sign to start talking about it. ✈️

Not because you need to have everything figured out.

You don’t.

Not because you need to book tomorrow.

You don’t.

And definitely not because you should already know exactly where you want to go.

You don’t. 😉

But because the best family vacations usually don’t begin with:

“Okay, where can we find a cheap flight?”

They begin with a conversation.

✨ What does your family need right now?

✨ How do you want this trip to feel?

✨ Are you craving relaxation or adventure?

✨ Do you want to explore somewhere completely new?

✨ Do your kids need a little magic?

✨ Does Mom need someone else to handle the details for once?

✨ Is this the year you finally take the trip you’ve been talking about?

Those answers matter.

Because a family vacation isn’t one-size-fits-all.

A week at Disney might be exactly what one family needs.

Another might need a quiet Caribbean beach.

Another might be ready for Europe.

Another might want a cruise where everyone can find something they love.

And another might simply need a long weekend somewhere with a pool and absolutely nothing on the schedule. 😂

That’s why I don’t start with the destination.

I start with you.

If 2027 travel is somewhere on your family’s radar, you don’t need a Pinterest board, a spreadsheet, or a 47-tab browser window before reaching out.

You can simply start with a conversation.

“We’ll take the big trip when the kids are older.”

I hear this one all the time.

And I completely understand why.

Maybe you’re picturing a long flight with a toddler.

Or nap schedules.

Or picky eating.

Or meltdowns in the middle of a crowded park.

Or wondering if you’ll spend thousands of dollars just to hear, “I’m tired.” 😂

But here’s the thing I want parents to remember:

Your children do not have to be old enough to remember every detail for the trip to be worth taking.

Your two-year-old may not remember the character breakfast.

Your four-year-old may not remember exactly which ride they loved most.

Your six-year-old may forget the name of the hotel.

But you will remember.

You’ll remember their little hand wrapped around yours.

You’ll remember the way their face lit up when they saw the castle.

You’ll remember them meeting their favorite character.

You’ll remember how tiny they looked walking down Main Street.

And they’re not only making memories they’ll consciously recall years from now.

They’re building a childhood full of experiences.

They’re learning that the world is big.

That new places can be exciting.

That trying something unfamiliar can be fun.

That family adventures are something you do together.

And honestly?

You don’t have to wait for the “perfect” age.

There is no magical birthday when travel suddenly becomes easy.

Every age comes with its own challenges and its own magic.

So instead of asking:

❌ “Are my kids old enough?”

Try asking:

❤️ “What kind of trip would work beautifully for the kids we have right now?”

Because that answer might look very different at 2 than it does at 8.

And that’s exactly why I believe family vacations should be personalized around your family—not someone else’s highlight reel.
