Some of our favourite - and most meaningful. engagement opportunities - are the visits by students from prestigious Universities in the USA.

These visits, organised by Lazy Lizard Travel, are valuable 'gifts' that build student confidence and broaden minds, and support our programme's goal of preparing our youth for the workplace.

But the MBA generosity often goes further - to providing useful, practical gifts which range from memory sticks to socks!

Our Grade 11 class, who hosted two MBA visits last term, are pictured holding 'goody bags' containing some of the many items donated by the MBAs.

Some fun 😂😂

When I take my lunchtime walk, I ain’t worried about dogs… dogs got manners, dogs got owners, dogs got somebody they gotta answer to.

It’s these feathered devils right here.

These ain’t birds… these are sky raised, grass fed enforcers with anger in their chest and nothing on their schedule.

You ever lock eyes with one?
That ain’t curiosity… that’s a threat assessment.

One of ‘em always stands up tall like he the supervisor.
The other one act like she mindin her business, nibblin grass… whole time he watchin you like “go ahead… try it.”

I swear they don’t walk… they patrol.

Chest out, neck stretched, feet hittin the ground like they late for a meeting where you the topic.

And don’t let one hiss at you…
That ain’t a sound God intended for lunchtime.

That’s the noise of a creature that woke up and chose confrontation.

I had one take three steps toward me the other day… just three…
and in them three steps I remembered every bad decision I ever made.

You start doin math real quick.
“How bad I need this walk?”
“Could I just go back inside?”
“Do I even like fresh air like that?”

Meanwhile he standin there like a feathered bouncer outside a club called Not Today.

Ain’t no reasoning with ‘em either.
You can’t “hey buddy” your way out of that situation.

They don’t speak English.
They speak dominance.

Little prehistoric leftovers with attitude problems…
yard goblins… wind up demons with wings…

And somehow… SOMEHOW…
we just accepted this as normal.

Like yeah… just go outside… get some sun… maybe get pressed by a bird that acts like it got something to prove.

Today, Rwanda marks 32 years since the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, one of the darkest chapters in human history.

It is also the day the Flame of Hope is lit, to burn for the next 100 days. Kwibuka, meaning 'to remember', is a time to honour the lives lost, support survivors, and reflect on the resilience and unity that have shaped Rwanda’s journey forward.

Kwibuka is not only for Rwanda. It is a global call to protect human dignity and uphold truth.

We stand in solidarity with the people of Rwanda, honouring their strength and unity, and reaffirming our commitment to remembrance, reconciliation and a future built on justice, equality and peace.
