We are monitoring the current Covid-19 (Corona Virus) travel restrictions closely and our goal is, as always, to keep our guests and staff safe. We hope that you and your loved ones continue to be safe and healthy as we navigate through this together.

Travel restrictions for interisland travelers has been reinstated on the island of Kauai. All travelers arriving on Kauai must complete a 14-day self quarantine. Beginning September 1, 2020, travelers must provide a negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hours of their travel date to be permitted to travel to Kauai. Please note this date may be pushed back and travelers are advised to check for updates.

Guests with affected reservations may reschedule their reservation up to 1 year from the original arrival date. Due to the high volume of inquiries, we are not available by phone for re-booking. Please email us at [email protected].

We are excited to welcome our interisland guests and those who have quarantined for 14 days on Kauai back to Hale Makai Cottages! We are very excited to see you, we've missed you!

We hope you and your loved ones are continuing to be safe and healthy as we navigate through these times together!

Travel restrictions for interisland travelers or those who have completed a 14-day quarantine on the island will be lifted beginning June 16, 2020. Current restrictions for out-of-state travelers have been extended through July 31, 2020.

If you are an interisland traveler and would like to make a reservation, please contact our office at 510-841-4474 or send a request via our reservations page. Guests with an affected reservation on or before July 30, 2020 can reschedule for up to one year from their original arrival date.

If restrictions are extended, we will adjust our policy, as necessary. Due to the high volume of inquiries, we are not available by phone for re-booking. Please email us at [email protected].

First, we want to say Mahalo again for all your support during this time. We hope that you and yours are safe and continue to stay healthy.

We have been notified that the 14-day quarantine requirement has been extended through June 30, 2020 therefore we are extending the date for re-booking reservations to on or before June 30, 2020.

If your reservation has been affected and you would like to reschedule, please email our office at [email protected] Due to the high volume of inquiries, we are not available by phone for re-bookings.

If you would like to switch your Hale Makai Cottages' reservation to our Palisades Cabin in Lake Tahoe, California you are certainly welcome to do so. Please note the Cabin is currently under the shelter in place ordinance as well.

We are sending you and your loved ones our warmest of wishes for health and safety at this time. We too are very disappointed that your visit to our beautiful island must be rescheduled, but our number one goal is everyone's health and safety. We are anxiously waiting to welcome you to Kauai in the near future! We can not thank you enough for your continued support of Hale Makai Cottages and the island of Kauai. Mahalo!

UPDATE TO PREVIOUS CANCELLATION NOTICE

As we gain more information, we will continue to adjust our rescheduling policy. As of April 7, 2020 we have extended the date for rescheduling reservations to those on or before May 31, 2020. Please email our office at [email protected] to reschedule your reservation.

***Update*** Hale Makai Cottages has extended the cut off date for rescheduling reservations to those reservations on or before April 30, 2020. We will continue to monitor this situation and adjust as necessary. Guests with reservations after April 30, 2020, we appreciate your patience and understanding to allow us to focus on those whose reservations are immediately affected.

Aloha guests, we are monitoring the current Covid-19 (Corona Virus) closely and our goal is, as always, to keep our guests and staff safe. We are taking this one day at a time like all of you and adjusting as needed. We are currently allowing guests with reservations on or before April 14, 2020 to reschedule their reservations within 1 year of the original arrival date and ask that they be re-booked within 1 month of the cancellation. If restrictions increase, we will adjust the date as necessary.

This situation is devastating to the island’s small businesses as many of us just reopened after the 2018 flood shut our doors for over a year. Please understand our small island is working hard to accommodate guests and keep our small businesses open.
