🎉🐚 A Bucket List Birthday Bash for the Books! 🐚🎉

Three teacher friends from Central Virginia—representing Madison, Culpeper, and Greene Counties—traded classrooms for the Crystal Coast and joined us for an unforgettable girls’ getaway!

Leanne (a marine biology teacher, so the pressure was on! 😄), Jennifer, and Regenia came to celebrate a very special milestone: Regenia’s 50th birthday and a bucket-list mission to find a Scotch Bonnet shell.

Mission accomplished… and then some! 🎯🐚

Not only did they find one Scotch Bonnet, they found SEVEN! 🤯 Apparently the shells heard there was a birthday in the group and decided to show off.

Between the laughs, the sunshine, and all the amazing treasures, this girls’ trip was one for the memory books. Thank you ladies for choosing Reel Tangled Charters to help celebrate such a special occasion!

🎂 Happy 50th Birthday, Regenia! We hope your next 50 years are filled with as much joy as finding seven Scotch Bonnets in one day! 🥳🐚🚤

Stephen and Julie Triplett rolled in from Lenoir, NC, ready for a shelling adventure, and they were on a mission! 🐚😄

The shells were showing off today with Helmets, Whelks, Sand Dollars, and plenty of other treasures making their way into their bags. At one point, we thought we might need to check the boat’s weight capacity!

In fact, Stephen and Julie found so many shells that they generously returned over a 5-gallon bucket full back to the beach for the next lucky sheller. That’s right—they basically restocked the island! 😂

After a day of shell hunting, beachcombing, and making memories, they said they had an awesome time and were already planning their next trip back to the Crystal Coast.

Thanks for spending the day with us, Stephen and Julie! We can’t wait to see what treasures you find next time… assuming you leave any for the rest of us! 🐚🏝️☀️😎

Talk about a quick return! 😄

Bill and Jo from Goldsboro, NC joined us for another shelling adventure after their first trip with Reel Tangled Charters in 2024. We must have done something right because they didn’t stay away for long! 😂

They picked quite the week to visit too, arriving right in the middle of all the excitement surrounding the Big Rock Tournament in Morehead City. While the fishing boats were chasing big game offshore, Bill and Jo were busy hunting for a different kind of treasure along our beautiful beaches.

Their efforts paid off with a fantastic collection of shells, including whelks, sand dollars, helmets, and even the sometimes elusive Scotch Bonnet! 🐚

The weather was beautiful, the shells were plentiful, and the smiles said it all. It was a wonderful day on the Crystal Coast with a great couple who clearly know how to enjoy a beach treasure hunt.

Thanks for spending another day with us, Bill and Jo! We loved having you back aboard and can’t wait to see what treasures you’ll find on your next adventure.

Sometimes the shelling world feels a whole lot smaller than you’d think!

Angelita and Laura, a mother-daughter duo from Oklahoma, first met one of Reel Tangled Charters’ friends, Joe Angel, on a shelling trip in Florida. Joe told them if they ever made it to the Crystal Coast of North Carolina, they needed to book a trip with us.

Well, they took his advice—and not just for one day, but TWO days of shelling adventures with Reel Tangled Charters!

We had a great time exploring the islands, hunting for treasures, sharing stories, and showing them what makes the Crystal Coast such a special place. We’re honored they traveled all the way from Oklahoma and trusted us to be part of their vacation.

A big thank you to Joe Angel for the recommendation and to Angelita and Laura for spending two days on the water with us. We hope to see you both back on the Crystal Coast again soon!

Third time’s the charm? Nope… for Joyce and Randy, it’s becoming a full-blown shelling addiction. 😂🐚

They joined us for their THIRD shelling adventure with Reel Tangled, and somehow managed to outdo themselves again! The beach was showing off and the shells were everywhere. Treasures galore… let’s just say their shell bags were getting HEAVY.

Joyce called it an AMAZING trip, and honestly, we couldn’t agree more. Trips like this are why we love what we do. Great people, salty air, and enough shells to make you start rearranging furniture at home to display them all. 😆
