Some great reminders

Have safe ATV/UTV adventures this Fourth of July weekend:

– Pick a sober operator.
– Watch your speed and stay alert.
– Wear a helmet and seatbelt, and make sure your passengers do, too.
– Make sure your machine is legal to ride in Wisconsin. This includes meeting width restrictions, registration and operator safety certification requirements.

BEACH TEST RESULTS ARE IN! 🧪

Samples were collected Monday, June 16th and a resample was done Wednsday, June 18th due to the levels at Mead Lake and Russell Memorial.

🔴 🔴 Mead Lake and Russell Memorial are now at a closure level and will need to be closed.

Resample for Mead Lake and Russell Memorial Park (Lake Arbutus) will be on Monday the 23rd to see if they will need to remain closed.

One of Wisconsin’s most colorful herptiles is the ornate box turtle. Not only are these turtles endangered in Wisconsin, but they’re extra vulnerable because sometimes people illegally take them from the wild to keep as pets.

A turtle’s best life is in the wild, where it has an expansive territory with diverse habitat types to shelter, forage, mate and lay eggs within – that's much better than a terrarium!

Protect Wisconsin’s turtles and keep wildlife wild by never releasing pet turtles, never taking wild turtles as a pet and reporting any suspicious illegal activity associated with turtles to the DNR’s Violation Hotline: https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/contact/Hotline.html
