We are back at Ocean Sounds for a couple of weeks.

We love coming here in the off season. All is so quiet and calm.....

The water seems especially blue today.

Although everything is in pretty good shape, we are busy getting things ready for the year. Hopefully, our family and guests will appreciate the updates.

Midgett Realty said they would be taking new photos when we are done.

In all the years we’ve come to Hatteras with our family, we never went horseback riding on the beach. This year we planned ahead and spent an hour with Gus and Shadow from Hatteras Island Horseback Riding. The kids loved it (and the grown ups did too)!

Our family is back in Hatteras, closing out the summer at Ocean Sounds. Last night we went on a sunset kayak tour with Slash Creek Outfitters and had the most incredible time. The weather was perfect. The sunset was breathtaking. And our guides, Amy and Jake, made the whole experience so special for the family (as you can see by our smiles!). We would definitely do this again next year.

We went on a sunset kayak trip to Durant point. It was a great time. Special thanks to Malorie for arranging it and to Amy, our guide from Slash Creek Outfitters. Amy was very knowledgeable about wildlife and plants, and she was friendly, inclusive and funny.
