Lindsey and Ethan Ingham recently returned from their honeymoon in Cancun, where they stayed at the Hyatt Playa del Carmen. While there, they enjoyed the beautiful beaches, wildlife, snorkeling, and dining on delicious food. They even made some new friends on their trip. Costa Rica is famous for its white-sand beaches, beautiful rainforests, and a wide variety of wildlife. Located in Central America with coastines on both the Pacific and Carribbean, Costa Rica is one of the most visited international destinations and offers something for everyone. In addition to its beaches, top attractions include Arenal Volcano, Monteverde Cloud Forest, Fortuna Waterfall and multiple national parks. While in Costa Rica you can enjoy snorkeling, surfing, fishing, hiking and ziplining. You can also see the many species of animals including sloths, monkeys, turtles and birds. Costa Rica is a popular honeymoon destinations as well as a great place for family vacations.

Dry, mild weather and an abundance of outdoor activities make Washing State the perfect summer destination. Among the top things to do are exploring famous landmarks in Seattle, visiting the many national parks, hiking, tubing, boating, wine tasting, and whale watching in the San Juan Islands. Seattle features the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, Chihuly Garden and Glass, and the Museum of Pop Culture. The many national parks include Mount Rainier, Olympic, which features the lush Hoh Rain Forest and the beaches of the Olympic Peninsula, and North Cascades, which offers dramatic glacier views and hikes like the Maple Pass Loop. Another interesting option is the Bavarian mountain village of Leavenworth with its many water activities on the Icicle River. There are also many dining and shopping opportunities, as well as ferry rides to Bainbridge Island, a scenic island community known for its natural beauty, arts, and small-town charm.

Gracie and Austin spent the second part of their trip in Amsterdam. They experienced a moving tour of the Jewish quarter with it's WWII history, museums, and famous landmarks including Anne Frank's house. They visited the picturesque windmill village of Zaanse Schans where they saw working windmills and cheese farms. They concluded their trip with a tour of the Heineken Brewery, followed by a cruise through the UNESCO World Heritage canals, which included a snack box filled with sweet and savory treats. Austin Taylor and Gracie Haynes recently returned from a European vacation where they visited Rome and Amsterdam. They spent the first three days of their trip in Rome. They enjoyed a guided tour of the Colosseum and Ancient Rome, where they heard stories of emperors and gladiators and viewed ruins of what was once the heart of daily Roman life. They took a day trip to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, the site of the 79 AD volcanic eruption that covered the city of Pompeii and preserved it as a time capsule. They concluded their time in Rome with tours of the Vatican Museum which features sculptures and Renaissance art, the Sistine Chapel with it's famous Michelangelo's ceiling, and St. Peter's Basilica, one of the most important churches in the world. Liberty Bell Pool, located in FDR State Park in Pine Mountain, Georgia is the state’s largest entirely spring-fed pool. This unique pool holds 500,000 gallons of clear, cold water, averaging between 50-60 degrees. It is fed by natural mountain springs which send fresh water into the pool each day. The cool water offers a refreshing break from Georgia’s summer heat. The name Liberty Bell comes from the bell shape of the pool, which features stonework dating back to the late 1930s. The pool was was built using local Hollis Quartzite stone. It is open seasonally, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Visitors can also enjoy the rest of F.D.R. State Park, including the famous Dowdell’s K**b. The park features more than 40 miles of trails, small waterfalls, a lake for fishing, camp sites, cottages, and horseback riding.

The Eurostar is a high-speed passenger train service that connects the United Kingdom with mainland Europe, allowing passengers to travel directly from city centers in London to Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, and beyond without taking a flight. The train's top speed reaches over 180 mph. It's famous for its route through the Channel Tunnel, sometimes referred to as The Chunnel. Eurostar offers 3 travel classes: Standard, Standard Premier, and Business Premier. Advance booking is recommended due to high demand and multiple security and passport checks at the terminals.

If you're planning a trip anywhere in the United Kingdom, you must first obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). The ETA acts as a pre-clearance which is tied to your passport, allowing you to board your flight or other transport and pass through border control more smoothly. The ETA application process is completed online through the UK ETA Government Portal. The process takes approximately 15-20 minutes and requires scanning your passport and taking a picture of yourself. The cost is around $20. The ETA is good for 2 years or until your passport expires, allowing for multiple visits.

Another of our visits while in London was to St. Paul's Cathedral, designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1710. It has served as a center of British national life, hosting royal weddings, jubilee celebrations, state funerals, and major thanksgiving services. The current cathedral was built to replace the "Old St Paul's," which was destroyed in the Great London Fire. Some of the most notable events held at the Cathedral include the state funeral of Sir Winston Churchill, the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana, the Golden and Diamond Jubilees of Queen Elizabeth II, the funeral of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and the Platinum Jubilee National Service of Thanksgiving for Queen Elizabeth. It remains the most visited religious site in the UK.
