The rolling storms through Helena continues to refresh the trails. Be sure to get out for a pre-work ride during the hot days of summer!

Reminder: Some trails could still be impacted by the recent heavy storms. Please be sure to avoid any heavily damaged areas until repaired.

Where do you like to ride before work?

Bike Helena met with Prickly Pear Land Trust last week, to have a conversation about the Helena trail system. Our chat led to why we all love the Helena community.

Helena is a community filled with passionate outdoor recreationists. Whether you bike, hike, run, or wander our community has a vast network of trails for everyone. This video is a good reminder that we all share those trails and the desire to be outside.

After last week's storms, we need to rally as a community to help rebuild and maintain that trail system. Be on the look-out for volunteer nights with Prickly Pear Land Trust, Montana Bicycle Guild, and other organizations.

Let's keep those trails accessible for everyone! See you all on the trails Helena.

Ever hear of the York 38 Special?

The iconic race celebrates its 20th Anniversary! Bike forest service roads, single-track snaking through the canyons, and recover with friends in the old mining town.

Feeling a bit timid, or eager and competitive the race has a 13 mile course and a 76 mile course.

ATTENTION: Hikers, Bikers, and Runners! PPLT is aware of the damage caused by Sunday's storm. See the post for details reporting any damage.

This week's forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms, be aware of rapidly changing weather conditions! Recreate with a friend and avoid using any damaged trails.

Have a wonderful week!

🚧WARNING:

Several parts of the South Hills Trail system have been damaged due to Sunday’s storm.

We are taking stock of the situation and are aware debris, rocks, and gravel have washed out some spots but we need YOUR eyes 👀 to get a complete picture.

Please report any trail damage you see to PPLT Trails Team: DM or at [email protected] — if possible, include pictures and specific locations.

One of our youngest team members, dressed in safety gear, scouted out Tenmile Creek Park and we are please to say it is in good shape and open for visitors!

While we are thankful the PPLT office is also undamaged, many of our Downtown neighbors were not so fortunate. We encourage you to support the hardest hit like Allegra Marketing Print Mail, Gold Bar, fourOsix, and Gulch Distillers.

Mullen Pass Road is one of Helena’s best kept gravel secrets. In the heart of the Helena National Forest, Mullen Pass sits at 5,902ft and is a part of the Continental Divide route. The Cyclist Menu shared a route from their Montana Gravel Camp that travels East to West over Mullen Pass.

Later this week we will be sharing a series of favorite rides from The Cyclists Menu. Stay tuned to see more fantastic gravel rides surrounding Helena.
