Day 3 (Part Two): Pirate Night
Ahoy, mateys! If you’ve never experienced Pirate Night on a Disney Cruise, imagine a night where your cruise transforms into a floating pirate ship. Full of sword fights, treasure hunting kiddos, dancing on deck, and fireworks lighting up the ocean sky. It’s a Disney dream with a dash of swashbuckling adventure!
Oliver and I had this night all planned out before we ever set sail from Port Canaveral. The moment I told him he’d get to wear his pirate costume for real, his little face absolutely lit up! And let me tell you he committed.
He rocked his costume, sword in hand, and he even insisted on a matching scar like his trusty pirate pal “O’Joe.” He was ready to set sail, cross blades (in the cutest way possible), and meet every pirate in sight.
Now, while the big pirate party on deck didn’t kick off until 10 p.m., my tiny pirate had already spent the day conquering sandy shores, so... he was out like a light. I tried to get him to dance, but he refused was out before the real party began.
He did manage to wake up just long enough to catch a glimpse of Mickey zip-lining across the ship and saw a few dazzling fireworks but the next morning, he barely remembered it.
Even though he slept through most of the Pirate Party, it still felt magical. It was one of those sweet, memory-making evenings I’ll always treasure.
Yo ho, yo ho, it’s a pirates life of us!
