Tick tock. Judging by the color of some of these fish, their biological clock is ticking louder than ever. Lake fishing for salmon is going to be over soon. Dan Smith and his crew, Korina(sp?), Josh and Jared likely marked the last salmon trip of the season for us. It was a good run and we are looking forward to a little fall fishing before the boat gets put for the season.

Today was a first for us. We had the honor of hosting former students, Brady, Andrew and Matt from Indian River Central School where the captain had them in class many, many years ago. They brought along their buddy and neighbor Evan and we all had a great time braving wind, waves, torrential downpours and one sea-sick angler. While the wind and waves pushed us to the calm waters in the lee of Stony Point, the king bite waned, but we were able to find some other fish to work on. The laker bite was phenomenal to start the day, so the boys were sent home with lots of fresh fillets. Thank you Courtney, for organizing this trip. It was really great.

Today we had the pleasure of hosting new friends, the O’Connell family. Sarah and Brian shared duties handling the boat, while Eamon and Ciaran roughed up the fish…just an absolute perfect team effort. They went back to their AirBnB in Henderson Harbor with lunch, dinner and then some. Let’s do it again sometime. The captain would love to hear what the boys are up to moving forward in life.

Wow! Where do I begin? What an incredible two days of fishing with my longest standing customer, Shawn Beckwith and his buddies Mike and Aaron from Maine. These pictures don’t even scratch the surface of the adventures we had over the last two days. Big, BIG waves coming over the transom of the boat. Countless crazy king salmon bites. Incredible Lake Trout fishing. Three person limits of both. Laughs on laughs on laughs. One little mishap with one of the fishing reels. Just an incredible two days. The fish always show up for Shawn. Thank you for your loyalty and patronage. It is much appreciated.

Today we had the pleasure of hosting the Marshfield party aboard the Hit and Run. We hid from the wind as long as we could while captain Trevor Baldwin was lights out on the wheel. We lost count the number of punishing northern pike strikes we witnessed. Some came off, some never materialized, some were thrown back to fight another day. We did keep a couple nice ones for the table. All in all, just a great morning before Alyse(sp?) and Tristan hopped a flight for Alabama. Thanks for fishing with us today.
