Why politicians should not be involved with managing amusement parks and fairs.

Not including Disney/Universal, roughly 50 million Americans will visit theme parks operated by Cedar Fair, Six Flags, and Seaworld (includes Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Tampa). As we witnessed first-hand at Six Flags Fiesta Texas earlier this month, parks have put many health safety protocols in place.

In spite of the leadership of Disney, Universal, Cedar Fair, Six Flags, and Seaworld, the State Fair of Texas Board and its 19 voting members could not develop a similar plan. Make no mistake, its not that a plan was impossible as exemplified by park operators from coast to coast, its that the State Fair of Texas Board and the Mayor of Dallas could not rise to the occasion and save the Fair.

On the positive side, we know Big Tex has seen worse!

POV ride on Intimidator at Carowinds. For those familar with Intimidator 305 at Kings Dominion, Intimidator at Carowinds is a totally different style of coaster and is similar to Diamondback at Kings Island. Which one is better? Our vote which is based on intensity, G-forces, speed, and overall ride experience is overwhelmingly Intimidator 305.
