Last week my husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Secrets Playa Blanca in the Cancun area (north of the hotel zone). This resort was beyond welcoming, relaxing, aesthetically pleasing, had wonderful food and service and the beach was GORGEOUS! Many beaches in the Cancun area had record amounts of seaweed last week but this area was spared (typically the case here).
One thing I loved was all of the cozy little seating areas, some with fire pits, around the resort. Perfect for just hanging out, a game of cards, working from paradise, enjoying a cocktail or snack or meeting up with your group! I’ll be sharing more about this resort in the coming days… we LOVED it!

I stole this from another agent and couldn’t agree more! There are so many “booking” agents out there with zero experience just after a dollar or recruiting and putting bad info out there and ruining the name of those of us with a heart for service who genuinely care about you, your family, your vacation memories and your satisfaction. Do your research when using an agent…. There are really good, well trained, well traveled agents out there! Not someone who watched a YouTube video and thinks they are a travel professional.

A heartfelt note from someone who has spent 16 years building a professional career in travel…if I am feeling this I know my colleagues are too. My feed is filled with “licensed and insured travel agents” posting deals. There’s never been more noise in the travel space, and with so many people calling themselves “travel agents,” it can be hard to know who to trust. But here’s the truth: not all travel advisors are created equal.

A true professional advisor is so much more than
someone who books your trip. We invest in ongoing training and certifications. We travel often—on our own dime—to personally experience the destinations and resorts we recommend. We build relationships with our travel partners and spend years learning how to deliver not just a vacation, but an unforgettable, seamless experience.

Unfortunately, there’s been a rise in multi-level marketing (MLM) “travel agents” who are focused more on recruitment than on expertise. They have paid a small fee to use industry credentials to book your travel and get discounts on their own trips (perks pirates). Many post flashy travel deals that seem too good to be true—and they usually are. Hidden fees, inconvenient flight schedules, long layovers, or major restrictions are often conveniently left out. What looks like a “cheap” trip can end up costing you far more in frustration, time, and unexpected charges.

This isn’t about competition—it’s about integrity. These MLM’ers are not my competition. Most will not be around in 1-3 years. If you know me than you know my best friends own travel agencies. We support and encourage each other. There is more than enough business for everyone. It’s about protecting travelers from being misled and honoring the standards of a profession that requires real commitment, deep knowledge, and heart. If you're planning a special trip, work with someone who lives and breathes this industry.❤️🤍🖤
