It’s just so nice to be back home again after ten days of long sunny days, temps in the mid-70’s, average humidity, soft breezes.

“Collar City” - the nickname of Troy, New York. Aptly named after the detachable collar industry that started in Troy in the 1820s. According to local lore, it was Hannah Montague who came up with the idea of creating a detachable collar after her blacksmith husband Orlando complained that he had no clean white shirts to wear in the evenings after work.
Handy Hannah whipped out a pair of scissors and solved the problem by simply cutting off the dirty collars and attaching a clean one.
Et voilà! The detachable collar was born.
However, the story does not tell how often the shirts were changed. Let’s leave that stone unturned.
