Six Senses Zighy Bay, Oman — you arrive by zipline or speedboat and the outside world genuinely stops existing. I have never had a client come back from here without saying it changed something.

Borgo Egnazia, Puglia — looks like a village, runs like a private estate, and has the kind of staff who remember how you take your coffee on day two without being asked.

This is genuinely one of the more complex things I do, because a multigenerational trip has to work for everyone at the same time. The toddler and the 78-year-old are not looking for the same afternoon.

Finding the destination, the property, and the pace that threads the needle without anyone feeling like they compromised is its own skill set and one I've spent a lot of time developing.

Part of the appeal of Barbuda is that it doesn't get nearly enough credit.

One of the least densely populated islands in the Caribbean, beaches with enough character that you're not just getting sun and sand, you're getting a place that actually feels like somewhere.

The pink sand beach alone is worth the conversation.

The ones with the service that makes you feel like a guest in someone's very beautiful home instead of a number on a room list. The ones where the beach somehow never feels crowded. The ones with the food that makes you wonder why you ever settled for a buffet.

The ones where you come back and regular hotels feel like a personal affront.

There is something almost embarrassingly simple about what a few days of good weather, no alarm clocks, and a view worth waking up to can do for a person.
