On EXPLORA III, the Retreat Residence Room 8001 (RR) is one of the Ocean Residence categories—essentially a spacious, apartment-style suite designed to feel more like a private home at sea.

Retreat Residence highlights

* 77–81 m² (829–872 sq ft) of interior space.
* Located in the forward-most part of the ship, giving it a particularly distinctive outlook.
* Separate living, dining and sleeping areas, with a dining table for four.
* A separate bedroom with a king-size bed, walk-in wardrobe and seated vanity.

⭐ The unique feature

The standout feature is its forward-facing position at the bow of EXPLORA III. Unlike most of the higher residences, which look primarily out over the ship’s sides or aft, the Retreat Residence gives you sweeping views directly over the ship’s bow and of the ship’s navigation. It’s particularly special when sailing into a destination—you can watch the ship approach ports and more remote landscapes from your own terrace. Only draw back is that is it a little loud when the anchor is dropping, being lifted and during docking and a this suite has a smaller balcony.

And you get that view from a private outdoor whirlpool, which is probably the most memorable aspect of the category.

The new droid experience in Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge on the Disney Wish is a great enhancement to this space! If you haven’t had a chance to visit this location it offers a giant “space window” that changes to different Star Wars planets like Tatooine, Coruscant, and Mustafar, with ships and battles happening outside the viewport. The drinks are also out of this world with smoke bubbles, glowing cubes, dramatic presentation rigs, and themed glassware, and glowing lightsaber stir sticks. A must visit for any Star Wars fan!

Let’s talk about Mickey and Minnie Cove Cabanas on Disney’s Castaway Cay!

In this post, I highlight and include tours of Cabana 9, which is ADA-accessible, and Cabana 29, the larger family-style cabana. Also, because this area in so long you can see that Cabanas 14–17 are conveniently located directly in front of the Bouy Bar and restrooms, while Cabanas 1–5 are conveniently adjacent to the Hanger BBQ for cabana guests. Although the higher number cabanas are a trek to get to they offer a lot of privacy and beach space. Also, you can rent bikes and get beach wheelchairs from Windsocks located at the entrance of Mickey and Minnie Cove by the tram stop. If you have additional questions I am happy to help. One of the top questions I get from clients is about the amazing kids' clubs on Disney Cruise Line! My children basically grew up on Disney Cruise Line and loved the kids club! They still reminisce and have lasting memories from their experiences while on board!

Today, I'm sharing about the kids' areas on the Disney Wish Class Ships (Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny and Disney Believe). Disney Cruise Line features four unique youth clubs for children from 6 months to 17 years old, most of which are included in the cruise fare. These clubs offer immersive, Disney-themed environments managed by fantastic youth counselors.

Infant & Toddler Care at “It’s a small world” nursery is designed for little ones aged 6 months to 3 years, with themed play areas, soft cribs, and activities. * Cost & Booking: This service requires an additional hourly fee and advance reservations via the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App.

For kids aged 3-10, Disney’s Oceaneer Club is the place to be, with themed spaces like Marvel Super Hero Academy, Star Wars: Cargo Bay, Fairytale Hall, Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, and Mickey & Minnie Captain’s Deck.

Tweens & Teens (11–17 Years) 
Teens have their own “parent-free” lounges with more relaxed, social atmospheres. 
* Edge (Ages 11–14): A colorful hangout inspired by a chic New York City loft. It offers high-tech gaming, movies, trivia, and scavenger hunts.
* Vibe (Ages 14–17): A retro-inspired “Parisian artist’s loft” featuring pop art, neon signs, and floor-to-ceiling ocean views. Activities include dance parties, movie nights, and karaoke.

Meet the MSC Seashore!! She debuted in June 2021 with a “New York City” theme and a focus on maximizing outdoor space to connect guests with the sea. It features roughly 140,000 square feet of public outdoor space, including a 1,770-foot-long waterfront promenade. 

Outdoor & Architectural Highlights
* The Bridge of Sighs: A glass-floored walkway on Deck 16 that sits 72 feet above the infinity pool, offering panoramic views of the ocean and the ship’s wake.
* Pools & Whirlpools: The ship’s design ensures variety, from high-energy, kid-friendly zones to quieter, adult-exclusive spots with scenic views. Boosting 15 whirlpools throughout and featuring six distinct pool areas:
