The waves baptized my legs, their song my ears, the sunrise my eyes, the pageant my heart. 6.7.25

I am excited that the sea oats are beginning to don their feathered helmets. The photos of the Sea Crest shows the low sunlight reflecting in some of the windows.

A tad less smoke today and a ruffled sea. Still pretty unusual.
I am having fun pointing my camera right at a full sun.

The sun has risen through Canadian forest fire smoke the past two days.You could never point a telephoto lens at the sun ten minutes after sunrise without a specific sun-filter. The smoke has muted everything. It isn't pretty but it is unique. Lots of birds swarming this morning.

These look like two separate sunrises and in a way they are. As the orb rises it brightens. I reduce the amount of light allowed into the camera so we can see the orb and other details. This results in a much darker and denser picture, one not seen by the eye. I once heard that, "pictures don't lie". Oh yes they do. 5.29.25

This is yesterdays sunrise behind a squadron of pelicans feeding on a large school of bait fish. The water is warming quickly and wading is a delight in the morning. 5.21.25

One more lesson on sunrise photos, have a telephoto lens.
