After our visit to Windsor Castle we moved on to the highly rated and member owned Swinley Forest Golf Club.
It is one of the most exclusive courses in the area, with only 80 playing members out of the entire club total of 200-250. They have also only accepted visitors within the last 5 years, so a real bonus to be able to add them to this week's itinerary.

After two days of golf it was time for a change of scenery, with a trip to Windsor Castle.
The castle was originally commissioned by William the Conqueror, not long after the Norman Conquest of 1066.
It has been used by the monarch since around 1100 and is the longest occupied palace in Europe. During the Second World War it was used as a refuge by the royal family during the Luftwaffe bombing campaigns.
It also survived a fire in 1992 and was the main residence of the late Queen Elizabeth II for the last 11 years of her life.

The next round of the trip took us over to Woking Golf Club. It was founded in 1893 and is the oldest heathland course in Surrey.
A very traditional club with a quaint bar and serving hatch to the 14th green, literally a few feet away ! Suffice to say, many a golf ball ends up bouncing off the table and chairs on the patio !!
The extreme heat in Surrey this summer has fortunately left us, to be replaced with a much more comfortable 72-78 degrees this week.

A first class time was had by all today, at the exclusive St.George's Hill Golf Club.
Hosted and then accompanied by club teaching professional Adam for 18 holes, our clients not only enjoyed the very high class surroundings, but also received some valuable tips and strategies to improve their game. We followed the round with post game drinks and dinner on the terrace, to bring the curtain down on a most perfect golfing day.
We look forward to seeing Adam again on our next visit, and thank him so much for his hospitality.

Our base this week is the 5* luxury Beaverbrook estate.
Located in the Surrey hills, which is an area of outstanding beauty just south of London. It was perhaps most famously owned by Lord Beaverbrook, the politician and later a newspaper mogul. The main house retains most of it's original features and pays tribute to it's many famous visitors, including authors, politicians and actors to name a few.
