Citrus, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), is deploying Disaster Survivor Assistance (DSA) teams into areas impacted by the storm surge.

This team is the eyes and ears – and sometimes the voice – of FEMA when they visit impacted communities. They are equipped to help residents apply for assistance, even in the toughest conditions.

Please be cautious, though, as scammers often pretend to be from FEMA or other government agencies.

DSA Team members will carry an official FEMA ID card and be outfitted in blue safety vests or a polo shirt with the FEMA logo or initials as depicted.

Be sure to verify their FEMA badge. If you register with them in the field, they will be using a FEMA device to collect information such as your name, DOB, social security number, and other key information. They will never ask for your ID during this process.
