A lot of my friends ask me "so what do you do after the Stourbridge Line shuts down for the season"? There are a lot of answers to that question. Thanks to a great team, after finishing a very busy Christmas season, we actually get a little time for a break, however, believe it or not, there is almost as much to do getting ready for the season as there is when we are running the train. In January, we meet to plan our entire season, juggling the calendar to fit all of our vendors schedules. Another big feat is putting together our "All Aboard" magazine that is given to every family that rides with us. The best part of that is working with local businesses to partner with us and offer a discount if our passengers present a ticket from riding the train or advertise in the magazine. The program was implemented to get visitors and locals alike to visit our local merchants and enjoy their time in our beautiful town. We also spend a good amount of time setting up the Special event trains including Princess and Superhero, Dino Dig, Rails & Tails-The Powerful Pups, Tiki Luau, Wine and Cheese, Runaway Train Beer Tastings, Rock the Boxcar-NEW this year, and much more. The Great Train Robbery, a fan favorite, resurrected last year for the first time in nearly two decades, is scheduled for two dates this year. Today, I finally got the chance to take apart the "fall arrangments" for the dining car and change them to a fresh springtime centerpiece for our first Dinner Train of the season this coming Saturday at 1:00pm. This would be a perfect time to bring family and friends before the summer rush, and this week there may even be a surprise "run by" preview of the Great Train Robbery gang as we pass through our trackside event venue. Feeling excited about the 2026 season!!!

We need help here please. Kim Erickson who has put years of hard work into maintaining the Veteran banners here in Honesdale has been notified that one of the banners is missing. Our fear is that it has been blown off the pole due to the high winds this winter. If anyone found this banner and retrieved it please notify us by email [email protected] so that we can get it back to the family.
