80 years ago today, during the Battle of Okinawa, a burial at sea with full military honors was held for a Japanese kamikaze pilot who had struck the Battleship USS Missouri. His Zero fighter did little damage to the ship. USS MO Captain Callaghan treated the pilot, Setsuo Ishino, whose body was found in the wreckage, the way he wanted members of his crew to be treated in the event they died in the line of duty to their country. In appreciation, the pilot's family commemorated the anniversary with a wreath.
