Do you know when the first electric e-bike was produced?

In 1937, the well-known Dutch bicycle manufacturer Gazelle partnered with electronics pioneer Philips to produce one of the first electric bikes: the Electro of which 117 bikes were sold.
The Electro weighed about 50 kg (110 lbs) and could travel up to 40 km (24 miles) on a fully charged battery. The battery, roughly the size of two small stacked ammo cans, took an entire day to recharge.

Balsam roots are in full bloom all along the the Columbia River Gorge, heading towards Mosier. The hill sides are covered with bursting yellow flowers. Part of the Asteraceae family -aka as the daisy and sunflower family. Makes for a wonderful picnic spot.
