If you are checking baggage, be aware that there are now new time restrictions on when you are allowed to drop off the baggage. See new rules for Delta Airlines, and keep in mind that JFK has additional timelines.

Delta Air Lines will now require domestic travelers to arrive at least 45 minutes before departure to check their baggage, marking a less lenient cutoff time. I bet you're hearing a lot about the need to get an enhanced driver's license to travel domestically in the US.

Here's what you need to know:

You do not need an Enhanced or REAL ID driver's license to travel domestically IF you have a valid passport. You simply need your passport.

Understanding Terminology:
An Enhanced ID proves identity and citizenship in one document, REAL ID only ID.

Beginning May 7, 2025, if you plan to use your state-issued ID or license to fly within the U.S., make sure it is REAL ID compliant. If you are not sure if your ID complies with REAL ID, check with your state department of motor vehicles.
