Are you coming to see us soon?
Spring is an amazing time to be in Hot Springs, and it is the start of our busy season.
So here are some friendly reminders on how to navigate the park.

📲Plan your visitor using the NPS app or nps.gov/HOSP. There is information about bathhouses, trails, campgrounds, and activities. The app also has several self-guided tours designed by rangers.

⛲Thermal Springs, decorative fountains, and drinking fountains can all be found with an easy walk along Bathhouse Row.

🏛️Fordyce Visitor Center Hours have adjusted. The visitor center will be open Thursday-Monday, 9a-5p.

🤠Programs with rangers take place daily when the Visitor Center is open. Talk with a ranger or go online for more information.

🚶Saturday hikes continue this spring. Our next ranger-led hike is Saturday, March 8, at 10a. Meet at the Hot Springs Mountain pavilion.

🚗Free and paid parking is available in the downtown area and free parking is available at designated areas on the scenic drives.

⏰Don't forget to set your clocks forward. Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, March 9.

🚵 Registration is NOW OPEN for the Wildcat Marathon mountain bike endurance race and the Northwoods Enduro, happening at the Northwoods Trails on April 12 & 13! The Wildcat Marathon will be held Saturday, April 12, and the Enduro will follow on Sunday, April 13.

“We are excited to be hosting the Wildcat Marathon and Southern Enduro Tour’s final race of the tri-state series, the Northwoods Enduro,” Visit Hot Springs Trails Coordinator Traci Berry said. “The Northwoods Enduro brings in enduro riders from all over the country.

The Wildcat Marathon, held on the Cedar Glades and Northwoods trails, features fast single-track, machine-cut trail, plenty of speed and tough climbs, Berry said. A course map with race distance and lap details will be provided to all registered racers the week before the race. “Be prepared for around 50 miles for the full marathon and around 25 for the half-marathon Mildcat,” Berry advised. A pre-ride will be held the Friday before the race.

The Northwoods Enduro is part of the Southern Enduro Tour that includes events in Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma. Berry said the complete tour offers the best variety of terrain in the Midwest and creates a regional championship that is both challenging and fun for any mountain biker seeking a premium race experience. The Hot Springs race is rated Skill-7, Fitness-8 and Gnar-7. It is a one-day event with up to seven stages, Berry said.

The Fordyce is not like other visitor centers. The Fordyce is a cool* visitor center.

It's also a museum! Stepping into the Fordyce Bathhouse Visitor Center & Museum requires a bit more etiquette than many other NPS visitor centers. Here are some tricks and tips to visiting the Fordyce safely and respectfully:

💡 Do not touch, sit, or lay down on the historic furniture.
To keep our museum objects, clean and safe, please do not touch the furniture, or stand on the benches in the dressing halls. Your touch may not seem like much, but even the slightest contact can damage the surface of the porcelain, discolor marble, and even rust metal. The oils that are on our hands and in our skin can damage the museum’s pieces.

💡 Do not lean on walls or cases.
This helps keep displays hung on the walls or displayed in cases safe. Feel free to sit on the benches as you talk, write, or draw.

💡 Food and drink must be left outside of the building (even the lobby)
The four floors of exhibit content will provide plenty of food for thought and even a feast for the eyes!

💡 For your safety, please walk, don’t run.
Running, pushing, and roughhousing are not allowed in the museum.

💡 Take your time!
There is A LOT to see. Appropriate museum behavior is necessary to avoid accidentally bumping into and damaging the artifacts or historic furniture.

💡 Be aware of your volume (and the volume of your group)
People visit museums for a variety of reasons. To respect other visitors, use your indoor voice. Please do not text or make phone calls during tours or talk on speaker.

💡 Pets are not allowed in the museum.
We love your furry friends just about as much as you do, just not in the museum. There are 26 miles of dog-friendly trail that your whole family can enjoy.

Following proper museum etiquette helps all visitors (including yourself!) have a meaningful and enjoyable experience in the Fordyce.
