This is Bailey. 🐾

In 2008, Theresa had been through two life-altering events in a short period of time. The kind that change everything β€” the kind you don't see coming.

It was at that exact moment that Bailey came into her life.

Found in a box outside a local store, too young to be away from her mom, small enough to fit in your hands. She needed Theresa. And Theresa needed her just as much.

By the time Clinton came along in 2011, Bailey had already claimed her place at the center of everything. Clinton became her daddy. Just like that, a family was complete.

For 14 years she hiked the trails in Hot Springs, knew every bend in Spring Creek, and showed up every single day exactly the way a great dog does.

When we bought this property, there was never a question what to call it.

The Bailey is her legacy β€” a place where no dog gets left behind, where every guest's dog is welcomed the way Bailey welcomed us.

Dogs stay free. Always. 🐾

Every stay supports Shelter Dog Transport Alliance. Bring a rescue or shelter dog and we donate an additional $25 to Madison County Animal Shelter.

The third week of October is when it happens. πŸ‚

Peak Blue Ridge foliage. Max Patch at 4,629 feet with 360-degree color in every direction. The French Broad River valley turning gold. Hot Springs mineral baths in crisp fall air after a day on the trails.

October 17-19 at The Bailey.

This is the weekend people plan a year in advance β€” and the weekend people regret not booking when they wait too long.

Don't wait until it's gone. πŸ‚

This is Nico at Big pillow Brewing in Hot Springs. 🐾

nine months ago she was waiting for a home. Today she's a Hot Springs local β€” Spring Creek swimmer, trail dog, porch enthusiast.

Nico was rescued not long ago. Clinton and Theresa brought her to The Bailey and she never looked back.

The Bailey was built because Clinton and Theresa kept falling in love with Hot Springs and kept having to leave their dogs behind. Nothing in town would have them. So they stopped searching and built the place they always wanted to find.

Named after Bailey β€” the best dog they ever had.

Every stay at The Bailey generates a donation to Shelter Dog Transport Alliance. Bring a rescue or shelter dog and we donate an additional $25 to Madison County Animal Shelter β€” keeping the love local.

Because no dog should be left behind. 🐾

Dogs stay free. Always.

Summer in Hot Springs isn't just about the mountains. It's about the water. 🌊

The French Broad River runs right through town β€” one of the oldest rivers in the world and one of the best for a lazy float, a guided raft trip, or a fly fishing expedition with someone who knows every hole.

Here's what a perfect summer day looks like from The Bailey:

πŸ›Ά Morning float or whitewater run on the French Broad β€” Hot Springs Rafting Company is a short walk from your front door
🎣 Fly fish Spring Creek with Hot Springs Fly Fishing Company or Bugs and Brews β€” pristine mountain water, wild trout, guides who grew up on this river
🐾 Afternoon at Rock Bluff in Spring Gulch β€” a local swimming hole where the water is cold, clear, and perfect for dogs and kids

Come home to a covered porch, a cold drink, and a mountain view that makes you forget what day it is.

Dogs stay free at The Bailey β€” always.

Through The Bailey Shelter Dog Welcome, guests traveling with a shelter or rescue dog who is ready for a quiet mountain stay help support other dogs still waiting for their homes.

The Bailey donates 10% of net stay proceeds to Shelter Dog Transport Alliance and our local animal shelter. For each qualifying direct-book stay through the Shelter Dog Welcome, we’ll also donate an additional $25 to a local shelter or rescue.

Donation recipients and quarterly totals may be listed publicly. Guest names are never shared.

Because rescue dogs deserve more than a second chance. They deserve a good life.
