✨✨Tuesday Travel Tip- when planning a cruise vacation consider a few things to make it more cost effective.
**Cruises to Avoid Booking Last-Minute are the New or Flagship Vessels or peak itineraries.
For example:
*Brand-new ships or high-demand itineraries (like peak Alaska or Mediterranean summer cruises) often sell out early and increase in price rather than discounting. These are best to plan at least a year ahead.
* Holidays and Peak Seasons: Sailings during major school breaks, Thanksgiving, or Christmas rarely offer distress discounts.
*Fly-Away Itineraries Requiring Flights: If flight costs spike closer to departure, any savings on the cruise fare will be wiped out.
**For discounted cruises—typically book them 30 to 90 days before departure— it is best to look for a short, regional itineraries with high inventory, such as 3-to-7-night sailings to the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Mexico departing from major North American ports preferable a port you can drive to, this eliminates last minute high airfare costs.

The Port of Galveston TX keeps bringing in more Cruise Lines…. Margaritaville at Sea will begin weekly Friday sailings from Port of Galveston Cruise Terminal 28 starting in October 2027.
