We’re taking ROPE Rewind underground! Back in Fall ’14, ROPE traded open trails for narrow passages, rocky tunnels, and a whole new kind of adventure. From crawling through tight spaces to exploring hidden caverns, there was plenty to discover along the way! Take a look back at one of ROPE’s caving adventures and the memories made along the way. And make sure to stick around until the end for a glimpse of caving in action!

ROPE has been hitting the trails for years, and this Rewind takes us back to Fall ’13 in the Ouachita National Forest! Take a look back at one of the many backpacking adventures in our history and get a glimpse of a tradition we’re still carrying on today.

Join us for an upcoming backpacking trip on November 14–15 and get a taste of the adventure, community, and memories that have made backpacking a ROPE tradition for years!

Did someone say Big Bend? 👀 With fall recess just a week away, winter break will be here before we know it 🥾

Spend the new year outside with ROPE exploring Big Bend National Park on a 7-day adventure with camping, hiking, and a ~21-mile backpacking loop through the Chisos Mountains, including a summit of Emory Peak!

ROPE headed out to the San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge this past weekend for two days of kayaking! Our groups spent the day paddling through the refuge, enjoying the calm water and taking in all the wildlife along the way.

We spotted plenty of cool fish jumping out of the water and even a few alligators hanging out nearby! 🐊

We also got to spend some time unwinding on the beach 🏖️

Between the wildlife, time on the water, and some peaceful moments, both trips made for an awesome weekend of exploring the Texas coast with ROPE!

Back in the day, ROPE took climbing to the great outdoors 🧗

From scaling rock faces to taking in mountain views, climbing has long been a part of ROPE’s history. Now, we’re bringing that experience back a little closer to home with our new Friday Night Climbs!

Join us indoors for FNC on 10/23, 11/20, and 12/4 and get a taste of the climbing, community, and adventure that ROPE has been building for years.

We had our first Friday Night Climb last week! 🧗🥳 Everyone had a great time climbing at Climb Capuchin. If you’re interested in scaling some walls, sign up for one of our FNCs this semester.

ROPE also headed down to Surfside Beach for a relaxing Saturday! 🌊

ROPE leaders headed down to the Gulf this past weekend for coastal kayaking training! 🌊

It was an experiential weekend of navigating waves, practicing rescues after capsizing, and building skills to be even more prepared for kayaking trips ahead.

And when they weren’t in the water, our leaders got the full coastal experience with an intense thunderstorm rolling directly overhead. ⛈️

They’re coming back to ROPE with plenty of stories to share!

Kayaking pool sessions are back for the semester, and we’re kicking things off today!

If you’re looking to join us on a kayaking trip this semester, make sure to attend a pool session ahead of your trip to learn the essentials and help keep everyone safe on the water. Instruction and completing your wet exit should take approximately 20 minutes.
