Accessibility is no longer just a technology issue. It's an information management challenge.

The Department of Justice extended compliance deadlines for state and local government web and mobile accessibility requirements, giving agencies additional time to prepare while accessibility planning continues.

Updated compliance deadlines:
• April 26, 2027, for state and local governments serving populations of 50,000 or more
• April 26, 2028, for governments serving populations under 50,000 and special district governments

Many organizations are taking a closer look at:
• PDF documents, forms, and reports
• Public records and other digital information
• Existing remediation backlogs
• Document creation practices and standards

The strongest accessibility programs don't focus solely on remediation. They also establish processes that help make accessibility part of everyday operations.

We enjoyed attending the 2026 Infrastructure Summit hosted by the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Discussions focused on road and building updates and the expansion of projects across the Houston region.

As infrastructure initiatives continue to grow across the City of Houston and Harris County, managing project documentation remains a challenge. Information management, records management, and document control help organizations keep information organized and accessible.

We enjoyed connecting with records and information management professionals from across the country, sharing ideas during our "AI, But Make it Useful" workshop, and hearing how organizations are approaching AI, governance, and digital transformation.

Some of our top takeaways:
