Today marks the 81st anniversary of D-Day, when U.S. troops stormed the beaches of Normandy, France. The men who landed faced uncertainty and unimaginable danger—but their bravery helped turn the tide in World War II.
To commemorate the anniversary, a wreath-laying ceremony will take place today at the World War II Memorial, led by veterans honoring their fallen brothers-in-arms. The event is open to the public, so if you’re touring Washington, D.C. today, you may witness this powerful tribute in person. 🇺🇸
