It feels like a hazy summer day today, despite the early signs of fall! Our guest hiker is excited to be headed back into the Boundary Waters Wilderness via the Border Route Trail. He shared stories of past BWCA experiences, including interactions with curious critters and a hail storm that gave way to clear, sunny skies in a matter of seconds. He hope he gathers some new stories along the way on this adventure. Enjoy the sun, everyone and get on up here to take advantage of the great hiking weather!

I stopped to admire the emerging fall colors but shuttle mascot, Twig, remained intensely focused on the road ahead. I would expect nothing less. He takes his job very seriously.

Girl POWER, baby! Two sisters, all friends, a software tech, a retired engineer, a librarian and a stay at home mom (the most important job of them all), left it all behind for several days, to hike a section of the Superior Hiking Trail together! The van was a buzz with happy, positive energy. It was contagious.

Linda’s place is so much more than just an Airbnb, it’s truly a portal to life up north. The place was absolutely spotless, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and it had everything we needed for our stay. We stayed here to position ourselves for the Border Route Trail hike, and you really couldn’t ask for a better location. Linda’s place is about as close as you’ll find to the eastern terminus of the trail. She also offers a shuttle service for an additional charge, but the price is very fair and well worth it. Having her pick us up after a long hike and bring us back to our car made the logistics incredibly easy. I honestly can’t say a single bad thing about Linda or her Airbnb. She was welcoming, accommodating, and made the entire experience great. This was a true 5-star stay, and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back. And you have to meet her mascot, Twig. Best dog around!
