I am SO excited to share this hikers (extremely) abbreviated and inspirational story! And along with it, a moose presented herself to us during the shuttle ride to the trailhead!

Laurie was a high school math teacher who retired during COVID but then decided to go back to work as a professor for a University. At the same time, she decided to do her passion - HIKING! She stumbled upon an article that listed the best hikes in each state. She set out to make it her goal to do every single one of those hikes, starting in 2019! Some years she's only do 2 but one year, she did 14!

The Border Route Trail was the hike listed for Minnesota. This will be her second to last hike to achieve her goal, with California's John Muir Trail being her last. She has hiked in 48 states in 7 years! Talk about inspirational!

What are you waiting for? Just do it! Whatever it is, set the goal and get moving, one step at a time. We'd love to be the ones to support you on any of your trail hikes up in our neck of the woods!
