Camp La Junta Open House is this Saturday, May 9th! Camp families, alumni, volunteers and community members come explore camp, check out our new buildings and facilities and see ho we’ve rebuilt SAFER, STRONGER, BETTER.
We’ll have a camp blessing, camp tours , CLJ Hotdog Cookout, plus plenty of fun and games to keep everyone smiling. Bring the family, bring a friend and enjoy a great day at camp!

The Rope Swing is BACK — and better than ever!
Scott, Wrangler Dave, and William gave it the first official test run today… and it’s AWESOME.
Huge shoutout to our camp alumni Ross and Sam with building such a fantastic setup. You guys crushed it!
We can’t wait to see campers swinging out and splashing into the river,it’s going to be an unforgettable summer!

Major construction is behind us, and now the fun begins…
Each day we’ll be giving you a sneak peek at what’s new around camp—starting with the stables.
We’ve replaced over TWO miles of fence line (yes, miles!), all thanks to the incredible support of our CLJ alumni. We’ve also got all new tack, and we’re beyond grateful to the horse community for stepping up and making sure we were taken care of.
The generosity, hard work, and heart that have gone into bringing our horseback program back mean more than we can say.
The horses are ready… and so are we.

For many years, Luther Graham’s cowboy hat hung in the Dining Hall—a symbol of our legacy and the traditions that have shaped Camp La Junta.
Through the flood and the rebuilding of camp, we’ve been reminded that our legacy lives in all of us. It is built from the shared experiences, memories, and spirit of every boy and every man who has come through our gates.
The construction of the Dining Hall is now complete, and it’s time to bring the heart and soul back into that space.
And for that, we want you—our Camp La Junta alumni—to be part of it.
We’re inviting anyone who is willing to send us a cowboy hat (new or well-worn) with a message written on the inside brim. It could be a wish, a memory, a verse, or anything that reflects what camp means to you.
These hats will hang in the Dining Hall as a living reminder of who we are—and who we are to become.

☔️ A change of plans…
We’ve been watching the weather carefully, and with a 75%+ chance of rain throughout the week and weekend, we’ve made the tough call to reschedule our Open House to Saturday, May 9th.
We know many of you were planning to travel in, so we wanted to share the update as early as possible. We’re genuinely disappointed to make the change, but we’re already looking forward to celebrating together next month—when everyone can enjoy camp with sunshine instead of umbrellas.
La Junta is back—safer, better, and stronger than ever. We’ll be sharing photos all week of our new buildings and facilities—you’re going to love what’s new.
