Visits to the 9-11 century incredible Cambodian ancient cities of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphoun and Angkor Wat...and of course Ta Prohm (Kim and me pic) the temple enveloped by jungle and the film location for Tomb Raider. It makes you appreciate the majesty and grandeur of ancient times.

Visited Genocide museum in Phnom Penh and one of 30+ "Killing Fields"...1.5+ million citizens,over a third of the country from '75-'79 killed during Khmer Rouge genocide. Met wonderful, gracious and kind people during our visit...most elders were impacted by event with relatives killed. Invited to traditional meal at lovely Cambodian house...lady in purple headband told fascinating and chilling account of her capture, forced march to killing fields and then escaping death by one day under a hail of gunfire... her appreciation of life and God was moving.

Our last day at Savasi...Kim and I spent a glorious morning on Natewa Bay...much larger than San Francisco Bay and the natural habitat of seven dolphin pods of approx 70 dolphins each. A chance to see the the "dolphin whisperer"...actually the opportunity to visit them via boat in their own natural habitat...and then a chance to snorkel on a magnificent soft coral reef. But...we had to find the dolphins first...watch our Dolphin Whisperer adventure...

Got to love the food and service at Savasi...and don't forget...in the lounge and on the terrace, no shoes please...

While its true that the majority of guests at Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort are families,non families also love it. Special dedicated areas just for couples...restaurant, pool, "quiet areas" etc., really bring a relaxing atmosphere without "chaos" to those traveling without children...this property really has the best of both worlds...and exceptional food and one of the most extensive wine lists you'll find in the islands thanks to their manager, Bart Simpson, who marketed and sold wines "down under"...(prices are listed as Fijian,U.S. price is 50% as indicated)
