As you can see, Trump is thoughtfully applying tariffs. It is not like Biden always giving in to foreign demands and costing Americans more across the board.

After negotiations, companies paying Trump’s car tariffs won’t also be charged for other levies.

A few months ago I was visiting Haarlem, just minutes away by train from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The Harlem neighborhood of New York City was named after this Haarlem when New York was a Dutch trading colony named New Amsterdam. The top painting represents the Haarem Square in 1696. I took the photograph on the bottom. It is amazing how little change has taken place in over 300 years. We should treasure our history, while understanding the importance of cultural history to others in our global family.

The companion to the “Birth of Venus,” painted by Sandro Botticelli, is “The Primavera” (or the Allegory of Spring). Also painted during the Renaissance period, sometime between 1477 and 1482 AD, this painting has multiple allegorical meanings. Upon close inspection, this is an amazing painting. It currently hangs in Florence, Italy, at the Uffizi Gallery.

Do you recognize this very popular painting? The “Birth of Venus,” painted by Sandro Botticelli, was finished in 1486 AD. Painted during the Renaissance period, it was revolutionary. Just before the Renaissance, all art during the middle ages was of Christian inspiration, and nudity was considered offensive. The painting is also much larger than you might think. It measures roughly 6 feet by 9 feet wide. It currently hangs in Florence, Italy.

This was a very special Easter for us. We were fortunate to stay in an excellent B&B right next to the baptistry in Florence, Italy. These pictures were taken from my room window. It was very crowded below. Displayed are pictures from the "Explosion of the Cart," which is part of an Easter celebration that dates back over 350 years. The fire is lit using flints that were obtained in 1099 during the first crusade from the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.
