OSB and the love of playing host is very much inspired by our family vacations as a kid. We mostly traveled to the East coast where we have family. Those trips are cataloged in the many photos but they are also instilled in my mind. I have never been afraid to walk into a new place or meet new people. It was a way of life for us as kids. Loading up a van, towing a popup trailer to "Up country" Maine where you fell off listening to wild cats crying in the night. Drinking water from the cleanest mountains streams and catching fish in lakes that few humans have ever laid eyes on was confidence building. The ocean fishing trips out of Atlantic City or Pemaquid instilled a love and respect for the sea I still can't shake today.

"Nothing to do on the North Coast in the winter..." Nonsense. Life is about sampling a little of everything. I learned to sail first on hard water.

I have a Lockley Skimmer still and am willing to take any guest out to the ice for a day they will never forget. (Plus it will give me a justifiable reason to go.)

That's mostly ice near shore. The freighter is maybe 5 miles out. The shipping lane is still clear. Once upon a time this was a sight you would never see in January.. the lake would dam near be walkable to Canada.
