Christmas on Elm Street

Due to the loss of my wife in June, her Grandmother in November and the major heart surgery my father has had this year, it's with regret to say that this years Christmas display will not be going up. Anyone who knows me know I have a huge passion for Christmas and enjoy doing this display every year. Between the costs to fix things that broke last year, the time it will take to do it and the total lack of focus, I haven't had time to even work on fixing things that need fixed. I am already planning on going full out next year and hopefully adding one or two new things.

I want to thank you all who have come by to see the display and hope you understand. I'll try to do better to keep things updated on here also. Thank you, Jesse.

Not having much luck this year with the ferris wheel. The battery charger we were using to power it is going out, and it won't spin it with the characters on it. We tried another DC converter and it started smoking... Our next attempt, was to power it using a car battery. This caused it to spin a lot faster than we wanted. We'll have to put some more thought into it and hopefully get it running soon.

In other news, we did upgrade our lights and music box which died last year. Our new one allows us to use our own music player. We've loaded it up with some good tunes. Be sure to tune your radio to 95.5 fm to "hear the lights".

It's been a rough year. Ferris wheel rebuilt, but one of the motors has gone out. It's lit up but not turning. Issues with our new music/lights box, also, so we are running on the old box which locks up occasionally. Babysitting it tonight so if you want to come by should at least be able to enjoy the light show.

Ferris wheel is up and functional. Just a few more lights to put on it. Lights and music mostly hooked up also.
