The Smith Family Popcorn Story

The Smith family of Cape Cod has always had a passion for gourmet popcorn. A popcorn passion which stemmed from family vacations to Ocean City, MD and visits to the caramel popcorn shop on the boardwalk. Every vacation the family would stop at the popcorn shop in the beginning of the week for a tin and on their way out of town for a take home tin. The tins of popcorn became a staple of the yearly vacations and family gatherings. A tin was always on the table; a snack for card games, a bag for the beach or a thoughtful Christmas gift became family traditions.

In 2016 Daniel Smith took this passion for popcorn and began making gourmet flavors as a hobby. Throughout the year he would send out sample batches to family/friends and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Dan began to consider opening a shop on Cape Cod. In 2017 a potential location next to the carousel on Main Street Hyannis was identified and everything lined up perfectly!

While thinking about the business and its potential impact, the Smith Family wanted to be more than a gourmet popcorn shop. They had always loved the Cape and had been involved in the community. It was decided that 5% of all sales would be donated to quality local Cape Cod charities, because with great popcorn comes great responsibility!

Smith Family Popcorn’s goal is to use a delicious, fun product like popcorn to improve the lives of people on the Cape. If you are part of a local charity please do not hesitate to reach out to us, we would love to partner with you!
