What a wonderfully whimsical this garden is … and the owner (Dennis) saved the very best for last so make certain you make it ALL THE WAY BACK to his fabulous outdoor brunch pavilion with a bed off to the side … should you decide you’ve overindulged and need a little “timeout” 😂🤣

Wow. 60 miles a day 🫪… impressive guy!

🚨FKT ALERT 🚨

Nick Fowler, 38, has just set the overall fastest known time (FKT) on the Pacific Crest Trail, finishing the entire trek on Saturday in 45 days, 17 hours and 47 minutes.

This is the second time in 2026 that a PCT speed record has fallen: Aurélien Sanchez completed the trail Northbound in July in 45 days, 20 hours and 11 minutes with a dedicated support crew. Now, Fowler has not only claimed the men’s self-supported SOBO FKT, but has also become the overall fastest person ever to hike the PCT — in any direction, supported or unsupported — beating Sanchez’s time by just under 2 and a half hours.

In doing so, Fowler is also breaking his own self-supported southbound record from 2023, when he finished the PCT in 52 days, 9 hours, and 18 minutes.

I love listening to the sounds of nature. This little California chipmunk 🐿️ was a little stirred up this afternoon. Did you know that chipmunks were some of the most vocal of all mammal species? Yep, they can differentiate warning calls between hawks versus snakes and which hole they should go in (or out) to avoid their predator. It’s pretty amazing.

We’re focusing on our native western gray squirrel (a favorite topic for Stephen Sutton ) … and you’ll even get to take away a squirrel nesting box, tips for keeping your squirrel friends healthy and maybe even some squirrel treats!!!
