Since 2022, John and Macy Coffman have invested blood, sweat, and tears with year-round striving. Their efforts have resulted in the unmatched Ridge experience that we proudly offer our guests today.

Let’s support John, Macy, and their newborn son Wesley with prayers and encouragement as they step away from their on-site management role for this season. This Sabbatical leave is only temporary and is intended to allow them to handle ongoing and escalating health concerns that they have faced over the past several months and it will also allow them to focus on caring for Wesley well in the midst of these difficulties. If you ask John and Macy, their work is far from done at The Ridge. We are all certain that this interim leave of absence will equip them to come back better than ever.

In the meantime, the Coffmans’ partners and staff will be assisting in the areas of 2027 bookings inquiries as well as the handling of all pre-trip communications with guests who are booked for the current season. The strengths of their guide team, hospitality staff, and talented chef have made all of this possible. Rest assured: in the Coffmans’ absence, the 2026 guests are still in very good hands.

Last summer, we hosted a wonderful guest that found herself along for the ride for a week at The Ridge with her family of passionate fishermen. Despite being in the heart of North America’s foremost trout and salmon fishery with expert guides able to instruct her in the ways of fly fishing, Jen was completely content to not cast a line all week long—not even once… and she had a great time! As the sun sets on another season at The Ridge, we can’t help but look back and remember what makes all of this possible: the days full of wild fish, wilder stories, and the friendships that outlast the midnight sun. We would like to extend a huge thank you to our guests for making the journey North, and to our crew for giving everything they had, every day, for 4 and a half months straight. We’ve only just begun the off-season, but truthfully… we’re already dreaming of the June 8, 2026 trout opener.
