Day 3 on Canyon Spirit. We opted to wake up early for a sunrise tour of Arches National Park. We had a great guide with Moab Adventure Center. We definitely need to go back as we only saw some highlights and no long hikes. It was amazing and pictures really do not do it justice. Along the way to Salt Lake City we saw more wildlife. Saw something we had never seen before- a firefighter helicopter getting water from a stream and then dropping on a forest fire. We got some rain not too long afterwards so hopefully that helps the fire.

The scenery may have been the star on our 3 day journey, but the people made the journey even more special. We loved the conversations, laughter, and connections we made with fellow passengers and the crew along the way.

The 2nd day onboard Canyon Spirit brought more beautiful scenery, delicious food, and adventure.
In Moab we took a sunset UTV tour to Hell’s Revenge. I was so glad Mike was driving. A little scary, very bumpy, but the scenery was amazing.
It was a very full day, but glad we packed it in.

Would an African Safari be on your bucket list?

Mike and I are planning one of our biggest bucket-list adventures yet—an African safari—and would love to share it with others as a Travel with Tonya private group journey.

We're looking at Fall 2027 or Spring 2028 and envisioning an unforgettable itinerary that includes luxury accommodations, exclusive game drives in private game reserves, time in beautiful Cape Town, and the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls.

This would be more than a vacation. It would be a thoughtfully curated experience designed for travelers who appreciate exceptional service, incredible wildlife encounters, and sharing memorable moments with like minded travelers.

24 Hours to Paradise... Worth Every Minute!

There are some places that stay with you long after you return home... and for us, Fiji is one of them. We went to celebrate an anniversary in 2023.🌴💙

Getting there took nearly 24 hours of travel, but every minute was worth it.

Instead of a large cruise ship, we explored the stunning Yasawa Islands aboard a small ship with just 64 passengers. It felt less like a vacation and more like being welcomed into paradise.

Every day brought a new adventure—snorkeling over vibrant reefs, swimming alongside reef sharks and majestic manta rays, exploring a hidden cave, and visiting local villages and schools where we experienced the genuine kindness of the Fijian people.

One evening we'll never forget was a traditional lovo dinner and cultural show on a private beach in the Blue Lagoon, with the sound of the waves and the stars overhead. It was pure magic.

But what surprised us most wasn't just the beauty of Fiji—it was the friendships we made. We met incredible people on that journey, and we're still in touch and have traveled together again.

The scenery was breathtaking, but it was the warmth of the people and the connections we made that truly made Fiji unforgettable.

Some destinations are simply vacations. Others become part of your story. Fiji will always be one of ours. ❤️

One bite at a time!
One of the best ways to experience a destination is with food.

Every local dish tells a story, connects you to the culture, and creates memories that last long after the trip is over. Don't just visit a destination—taste it.

While visiting Caleb in Madrid while studying abroad, we took a cooking class. We went to the market to buy all the ingredients and then went to the kitchen and prepared the food and drinks. Last night, he came over and we made a version of the paella. It was great time together and a fun experience. Not just ticking of places, but truly experiencing the destination.
