It's National Pink Flamingo Day! Peaches is one of the flamingos that blew in to Florida with Hurricane Idalia in 2023. He was seen again recently on the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. Peaches is only the 2nd flamingo tagged in the United States. Nature conservationists are hopeful that this shows that flamingos may once again migrate to Florida.

Peaches was rehabilitated at our local Seaside Seabird Sanctuary in Indian Shores, FL. He was released in Fort DeSoto Park in 2023.
