COVID-19 UPDATE
For 12 straight years, the ministry of Awestruck has been used to create a community of young people that were trained and equipped to not only serve a particular community while immersing themselves in the Word of Jesus, but to be impacted enough to take their experience and apply it to their own communities. The relationships youth have built have proven huge as they live out their faith the rest of the year. It would take an extraordinary event to halt such an experience that has meant so much to so many.
With much prayer and proper evaluation of our current struggles with fundraising, setting up projects and adhering to CDC guidelines, we are deeply heartbroken to announce that Awestruck Project 2020 and Awestruck Music Festival 2020 have been cancelled and rescheduling later in the year is just not feasible.
Yet, the core of what we want to accomplish has not changed. We still see value in doing what we can to allow youth to increase their knowledge of non-profits, to meet college believers, adult leaders, and their Lord and Savior in a very specific fashion. We can STILL do this in a different way!
Key leaders in the planning of Awestruck will meet in early May to discuss possibilities of still creating opportunities for our youth to partner with non-profit organizations, meet new people, and to grow deeper in the faith and love of Jesus Christ, whether this is all done virtually or in person. It could be one week of the summer or weekly throughout the summer. Please pray as we deliberate what God wants the summer to look like, as different as it may be. Above all, God is still God and His plan will not be defeated by anything.
Let me know if you have any questions as our new plans for the summer unfold and please be on the lookout via our texts or website for updates!
Thank you for your understanding, your prayers, and your part in joining Jesus on His amazing mission. And lastly, remember the mission hasn't changed. As the Awestruck verse has always been, remember, we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire!
