We accomplished the installation of the massive sets of swell shutter fronts in the new RIT- Music Performance Theatre this week. Our crew included Joe Granger and Jesse Warner of J Grainger & Associates from Grand Rapids, MI of which we could not have accomplished the task without. David Bottom from Lexington, KY and Carlton Smith. These openings are 18' tall with the Solo Loft being 12' wide, the Main Loft 14' wide. Upper sets of shutters point to the back of the auditorium and the lower sets point across the auditorium.

Speaking of swell shades we are presently restoring the four large sets for our RIT Music Performance theater , 3/21 Barton project. The Main sets are 14' wide and 9' tall, stacked one top the other with the swell opening being 18' tall. The Solo sets are 13' wide. The Main sets have 21 blades each and the Solo sets have 18 blades each. The lower sets point across the auditorium and the upper sets point to the back of the auditorium. What you're seeing in the photos is one of the main sets we have completed.

We recently completed a new 3/14 Barton organ installation for Mr. John Sonday of Nashville, TN. The organ is installed in a new studio/garage which was specifically designed and built to house the organ. Mr. Sonday as well as we are very pleased with the acoustics of the building and the results of the instrument within the building.

The core Barton instrument is from the Birmingham Theatre, Birmingham, MI and the console is from the Gateway Theatre , Kenosha, WI.

The principal restoration technicians for this project were: Carlton Smith, Justin Nimmo and Timothy Piotrzkowski. The Installation technicians were Carlton Smith, David Bottom, Joseph Grainger, David Finkel and Mr. Sonday the owner. Tonal finishing was performed by Clark Wilson, Carlton Smith and assisted by David Bottom.

I added the Chamber and Console specification in the photos today, 5/4/23.

We have enjoyed 31 years in the historic Stutz Business Center under the ownership of Turner Woodard. Mr. Woodard is a wonderful person, a avid supporter of the arts and he cared very much for the well being of his long term tenants. Turner made the decision to pass the Stutz enterprise on to new younger investors for it's future wellbeing. The building was sold to a new group of investors last year and it has been undergoing massive reconstruction and changes that we have come to the sad conclusion will no longer support to our business needs when completed. After searching for nearly a year we have secured a new location at 5333 Commerce Square Drive, Suite D on the south side of Indianapolis. The facility is local family owned which made it a little more affordable. We will be moving our operation to the new location until the first few weeks of July.

More after the move has been completed and we are settled.
