Just a reminder to residents—please take a moment to think about our visitors during this stretch of wet, rainy weather. When the rain settles in, most of us are able to go home, get comfortable, and wait it out. For many visitors, that option doesn’t exist.
A lot of families and travelers have spent thousands of dollars planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Hawaiʻi. With the weather canceling beach days, hikes, boat tours, and outdoor activities, many have lost the experiences they were most excited for. Instead of exploring the islands, they’re often stuck inside a hotel room with limited options and nowhere else to go.
A little patience, understanding, and aloha can make a big difference. A smile, a kind word, or even a simple suggestion for something to do indoors can help turn a frustrating situation into a better memory. This is still their vacation—let’s help make it a positive one, rain or shine.
