Why a cabin?
My grandparents built a small log cabin in Island Park, Idaho. Their place became synonymous with togetherness, adventures, a sanctuary of relaxation, and now decades later past their ownership, a source of fond memories and family lore. I've heard how it helped strengthen family relationships and the joy it brought our extended family is immeasurable.
Years ago, our little family attended a family reunion at a large family cabin in Palisades, ID. It was heavenly. It ignited a spark in us to find our own sanctuary, and hopefully replicate the type of experiences my grandparent's cabin provided their growing family. We are a family with 6 kids of our own. Some are edging ever closer to adulthood and we are keenly aware that these memories and experiences together are so important. So, here we are, excited to have this dream come true and hopefully the ability to provide these memory making experiences for our guests.
Hanging in the hallway is a small wood painting that hung in my grandparent's cabin. It was the first thing we hung up when our cabin was completed. It's a reminder for us to savor the moments there, and the power of being together and spending time at our Haven. 🩵🩵
