Did you know cast nets have been discovered in ancient Egyptian tombs and found etched into Hawaiian pottery found from the 4th century? Cast nets have been a successful tool for fishermen for a lonnnnnng time!

Atlantic spadefish get their name from their body shape. They are flat and rounded like a spade. The ones we caught and released from our crab trap are small but they can get much larger think up to 36 inches long and about 20 pounds!
