The Soo Line, Red Top Loop, Foxy Trail, Ten Bruin Trail, Eastside and Adventure Trails are now open.

We appreciate the efforts of our volunteers and club members in preparing the trails.

As another candlelight event season comes to an end, we can't help but reflect on how much our community lights up our winter evenings! We loved seeing your faces on the candlelit trails or chatting with you around the bonfire, steaming cups of cocoa in hand. Winter can feel long, but you make the days all the more cozier!

As a thank you, here's a beautiful poem about candlelight events from Mille Lacs Kathio State Park staff below. Enjoy!

The snow fell, the roads were plowed,
The darkness fell, along came the crowd.
Snowshoes fitted, excitement galore,
Candles lit, darkness no more.
The snow glistened, by candlelight,
The stars twinkled, a beautiful sight.
Old and young, hiking through snow,
Oh, what a night, at Kathio.
