The Tishomingo County Tourism Council was organized in 1993 under the umbrella of the Tishomingo County Development Foundation. The Board of Directors of the tourism council consists of a fifteen member board, three from each supervisor’s district. The purpose of the council is to work toward attracting visitors, retirees and businesses through advertising, hosting events, mail outs and partnershi

ps with other tourism agencies. We serve on the Board of Director’s of the Mississippi Hills National Heritage Area Alliance and the Natchez Trace Compact. We are also a member of the Mississippi Tourism Association and the Tenn-Tom Tourism Association. We feel that we are located in one of the most beautiful parts of Mississippi, boastful of true southern hospitality, and indeed “One of the Best Kept Secrets of the South.”

Did you know TSP is on the National registry of historic places?!?!? For many things… but look at this
one we spent time with today!

What looks like a simple rocky stretch of Bear Creek is actually part of a fascinating piece of Tishomingo’s history.

Hidden among the rocks is a historic fish weir—a stone structure built to work with the natural flow of the creek and help guide fish into a narrower area where they could be caught.

Some of Tishomingo State Park’s history isn’t behind glass or marked by a sign—it’s right there in the creek. 🌿

Please make note of a change to the City of Belmont’s monthly Board of Aldermen meeting schedule. Due to the availability of our new City Attorney, our regular meetings will now be held on the:

📅 FIRST MONDAY OF EACH MONTH
📍 Belmont City Hall – Board Room
🕕 6:00 PM – Work Session
🕖 7:00 PM – Regular Board Meeting

Our meetings are open to the public, and we encourage citizens to stay informed and involved in the business of our city.

📝 Want to address the Mayor and Board? Citizens wishing to speak must be placed on the meeting agenda in advance. Please complete the request form located at the bottom of the City of Belmont website.
