The Tishomingo County Tourism Council was organized in 1993 under the umbrella of the Tishomingo County Development Foundation. The Board of Directors of the tourism council consists of a fifteen member board, three from each supervisor’s district. The purpose of the council is to work toward attracting visitors, retirees and businesses through advertising, hosting events, mail outs and partnershi

ps with other tourism agencies. We serve on the Board of Director’s of the Mississippi Hills National Heritage Area Alliance and the Natchez Trace Compact. We are also a member of the Mississippi Tourism Association and the Tenn-Tom Tourism Association. We feel that we are located in one of the most beautiful parts of Mississippi, boastful of true southern hospitality, and indeed “One of the Best Kept Secrets of the South.”

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks said the statewide celebration will take place June 6–14. As part of the event, residents may fish without a sport fishing license on June 6 and 7, which have been set aside as Free Fishing Days.

"Remembering and respecting our Veterans for the selfless sacrifices they have made is one of our greatest responsibilities as citizens of this state and nation," said Sara Cooley. "We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom. The American Veterans Traveling Tribute offers the people, alongside Veterans, the chance to pay their respects to our nation's fallen warriors and gain a deeper appreciation for all those who have answered the call to service.”
Kylah Doherty the AFT Event Coordinator stated, “We are excited to partner with IDEA to offer this experience and make this event one to remember!"

📰 Thank you to Good Grit Magazine for putting one of our favorite Trace stops on their 'Sleep Under the Stars' list of six Southern campsites worth planning a summer around. Their pick? Tishomingo State Park — right along the parkway in northeast Mississippi, where rock formations, waterfalls, and a swinging bridge over Bear Creek make you forget you're in Mississippi at all. Primitive sites, cabins, RV hookups, and Bear Creek floating all summer long. If you've been meaning to trade the hotel key for a tent zip, consider this your sign. Thanks for the love, Good Grit Magazine 💚
