Finished a 5 day paddle totaling 56 miles from Spednic Lake, down the St. Croix, across the Grand Falls Flowage Reservoir to finish in Princeton just beyond Indian Township. Guided 8 young, male teens (13-14)/one counselor from a residential Maine camp. NO injuries! NO capsizing. Ran Little Falls and Canoose Falls perfectly - with loaded boats no less. It was nice to run into WAVUS as I usually do on the Allagash. We shared campsites 3 nights and how to attack the rapids. Pictures limited for privacy. P.S. NOT impressed with the toiley facilities on the St. Croix. Awful!

NOTICE OF BRIDGE CLOSURE: There are now TWO successive bridge closures on the Chimney Pond Trail. The options for hikers are 1) cross the stream at both bridge sites using short re-routes across the stream beds, following the blue flagging or 2) follow the North Basin and North Basin Cutoff Trails. Option one is the shortest, and most of the summer will not involve getting your feet wet (but this is weather dependent, so there are no guarantees). Option two will add approximately 0.6 miles to the hike between Roaring Brook to Chimney Pond, and you would still need to cross the same stream without a bridge, just at a different location.

Our Trail staff are responding as quickly as possible to provide safe bridge crossings. The closures will remain until further notice.
