Runoff is on. A thin snow year and a week of heat have pushed the Snake into full spring melt, and most of the valley is running high and off-color right now.

Here's what that means if you're planning a trip: the tailwater below Jackson Lake Dam is still ice-clear, and the cutthroat are stacked in the soft seams, feeding through the midday Blue-Winged Olive window.
